Edmond O'Brien plays a blue collar telephone repairman and electronics whiz who gets the opportunity to improve a local bookie ring with new technology. He does just that and keeps on working his no-nonsense angle all the way to the top. Well written, sharply acted, and crisply photographed gambling crime noir from Columbia.
